Fig Tree

THe 1st photo taken in Sep 2010. The plant was collected from wild, a small sapling by the drain back in 2005. The trunk has grown to 4 cm by 2010. The term "Bodhi Tree" is also widely applied to this plant.

The 2nd photo taken in Jun 2010. The plant is fast growing and neneds frequent trimming.

The Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Temple is called the Sri Maha Bodhi. According to Buddhist texts the Buddha, after his Enlightenment, spent a whole week in front of the tree, standing with unblinking eyes, gazing at it with gratitude. A shrine was later erected on the spot where he stood, and was called theAnimisalocana cetiya

This plant was a cutting taken from nearby neighbor's house when under renovation in 2009. It is of light purple flower and has bloomed several times. Bloom of Sep 2010

This Bougainvillea was bought from Taipei back in 2005. For some reason, it just refused to flower todate.
